Energy
One of the biggest levers for greater sustainability in hotel operations
Energy is one of the key areas of consumption in the hotel industry. At Park Plaza Trier, we therefore implement a range of measures to consciously reduce our energy use and make more efficient use of resources – without compromising the comfort of our guests.
Our Measures at a Glance
Green Electricity
We use locally produced green electricity, helping us to actively reduce our carbon footprint. In this way, we support a more environmentally conscious energy supply and rely on electricity from renewable sources.
LED Lighting
In many areas of the hotel, we use LED lighting instead of halogen or conventional energy-saving lamps. LEDs consume less electricity, have a longer lifespan and also help reduce maintenance and material requirements.
Motion Sensors in Selected Areas
We use motion sensors in corridors, stairwells and back-of-house areas. This ensures that lights are only switched on when they are actually needed, helping to avoid unnecessary electricity consumption.
Keycard System in Guest Rooms
Our guest rooms are equipped with a keycard system. This means that the room’s electricity supply is activated only when guests are present, preventing lights, televisions and other electrical devices from remaining on unnecessarily.
Individual Heating and Air-Conditioning Controls
The temperature in our guest rooms can be adjusted individually. This allows us to combine guest comfort with a more conscious and demand-based use of heating and air-conditioning systems.
Our Goal
Our aim is to use energy where it is genuinely needed – efficiently, responsibly and with a focus on making our hotel operations more resource-conscious.
