Reducing Plastic & Waste

Reuse, reduce and use resources more consciously

Single-use products and unnecessary packaging generate a significant amount of waste in everyday hotel operations. At Park Plaza Trier, we therefore aim to gradually reduce plastic and avoidable waste. Our focus is on reusable solutions, effective waste separation and digital processes.

Our Measures at a Glance

Reusable Instead of Single-Use
Wherever possible, we replace single-use products with reusable alternatives. One example is our permanently installed dispensers for soap, shower gel and shampoo in bathrooms and showers. These replace small single-use bottles and help us significantly reduce packaging waste and unnecessary plastic consumption.

Reducing Unnecessary Single-Use Packaging
In other areas, too, we regularly review where packaging can be avoided or replaced with more sustainable alternatives. Our aim is to use materials more consciously and prevent waste wherever possible before it is created.

Waste Separation in the Hotel and for Guests
Careful waste separation is an important part of our approach to responsible resource use. Within the hotel, we separate recyclable materials from residual waste. We also provide our guests with options for disposing of waste appropriately during their stay.

Recycled Paper
Where printing is necessary, we use recycled paper. This helps conserve resources and reduce the use of virgin-fibre paper.

More Sustainable Cleaning Products
In our cleaning processes, we pay attention to the responsible use of cleaning products and, where possible, choose more sustainable alternatives. This helps reduce the environmental impact of our day-to-day hotel operations.

Digital Invoices Instead of Printouts
Our guests can receive their invoices digitally. This helps us avoid unnecessary paper printouts while also making the check-out process more modern and efficient.

Our Goal

Our aim is to consistently reduce plastic and avoidable waste – through better alternatives, more conscious processes and small changes that can make a noticeable difference in everyday hotel operations.
