Purchasing & Procurement
Sustainable Purchasing – Regional, Conscious and Durable
Hotels can also make an important contribution to greater sustainability through their purchasing decisions. At Park Plaza Trier, we therefore make a conscious effort to select products, materials and food with quality, origin, durability and responsible supply chains in mind.
Our Measures at a Glance
Regional Purchasing
We deliberately source many of our products from regional suppliers. These include cheese, eggs, wine, beer, water, juices, meat, cold cuts and much more. This strengthens local businesses, supports regional value creation and helps reduce transport distances.
Fairly Produced Products
When purchasing coffee, tea and cocoa, we pay attention to fairly produced goods. In doing so, we aim to support better conditions within supply chains and choose products that give greater consideration to social and environmental aspects.
More Environmentally Friendly Cleaning Products
Where possible, we also use more environmentally conscious alternatives for cleaning products. This helps us reduce the environmental impact of our daily hotel operations while maintaining high hygiene standards.
Durable Products Instead of Disposable Items
When making purchases, we focus on quality and durability. Products that can be used for longer periods need to be replaced less frequently, helping to reduce both waste and resource consumption.
Conscious Procurement in Everyday Operations
Sustainable procurement is an ongoing process for us. We regularly review where regional, durable or more resource-efficient alternatives can be used effectively – from the restaurant and guest rooms to materials used in day-to-day hotel operations.
Our Goal
Our aim is to take responsibility through our purchasing decisions: for our region, for fair supply chains and for a more conscious use of resources. In this way, we combine quality with more sustainable practices in our everyday hotel operations.
